Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026, and is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Steam. The Xbox version is included with Game Pass and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so console and PC players can continue on either platform. The sequel keeps the accessible action-RPG combat of the first Minecraft Dungeons, but expands its setting into a connected world. Players travel through the Overworld and a new dimension called the Sift, finding distinct biomes, side quests, dungeons and sudden encounters along the way. Xbox Wire’s pre-release hands-on described the new landscape as a major shift from the original’s more chapter-based structure. Navigation and co-op quality-of-life changes are part of that redesign. Teleport Statues let players return to a nearby Shrine rather than retrace long routes, while a quick inventory overlay is designed to make equipment changes less disruptive during couch co-op. The game also gives players more detail about how equipment effects and enchantments combine, supporting more deliberate character builds. The bigger question for returning players is whether the open-ended exploration makes each run feel more surprising without losing the original’s quick, pick-up-and-play rhythm.
