Drone strikes hit two Yandex data centres in Russia; one shut down

Yandex says drone attacks damaged two of its data centres in Russia within two days. The company says its Sasovo facility was seriously damaged overnight on October 7–8 and shut down; its Kaluga site was hit the following morning, leaving part of its infrastructure out of service. Yandex reported no employee injuries at either location. Reuters reports that two of the three supercomputers Yandex uses to develop its AI model are housed at the Sasovo site. Yandex warned that some services could be disrupted and said it could not yet estimate when equipment would return to service. The full effects of the strikes remain unclear.
