G7 agrees to release 100 million barrels of oil and diesel over four months
G7 countries have agreed to coordinate the release of up to 100 million barrels of oil and fuel products through the International Energy Agency over four months. A substantial amount of diesel is due to be released in the first 20 days, according to the group’s statement reported by EFE. The plan is intended to ease pressure on fuel markets as prices rise. G7 leaders also said they would avoid restricting energy exports between member countries and coordinate refinery schedules. The actual price impact remains uncertain, and the release draws down emergency reserves.
