Overwatch reveals Doctrine, a vampire Support hero, at BlizzCon 2026

At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard revealed Doctrine — Overwatch's new vampire-inspired Support hero (Hero 54) and an ally of Doomfist. He's playable now in a limited-time Hero Trial through September 14, then joins the roster with Season 5 on October 6. Doctrine manipulates lifeforce with a scepter, infusions, and bat-like drones. The Breakout trailer shows Doomfist breaking him out of Watchpoint: Grímsvötn, a new Escort map set at an Icelandic volcano prison. Season 5 also brings major reworks for Sombra (moving to Support) and Roadhog, plus the conclusion of the Reign of Talon story arc.
