DOJ investigates five broadcasters over White House pool coverage pause

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC violated antitrust law when they briefly stopped supplying pooled television coverage of the president. The inquiry follows the White House’s exclusion of CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House grounds. A Justice Department spokesperson said the investigation is meant to determine whether the networks violated the law; it is not a finding of wrongdoing. The White House television pool has since resumed coverage.
