Deadlock’s first new hero, Rat King, is playable; the next arrives October 6

Valve has started releasing the six heroes announced in Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps update. Rat King became playable on October 2, the first of the new characters to arrive. In its Steam announcement, Valve says the next hero will join the game on Tuesday, October 6, at 2 p.m. PDT. Players are voting on the release order, with new heroes scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays. The rollout accompanies a major map redesign and broader gameplay, accessibility and quality-of-life changes. Deadlock remains an invite-only playtest in early development; the hero schedule is not a public launch date.
